The Joys of Headwear

"This old thing?

Heh.

I suppose it's just another piece of the past I carry with me. Too attached to really ever let go. It was my father's work hat. This thing kept him shielded from the sun every long day he spent out there in the fields. Practical, durable, and he made it look cool.

He never was without it. In a way it was as much a part of him as his callused hands or thick beard. A lifetime of honest work signified by his worn out hat. His honesty. His diligence. His devotion to family. All in that there hat.

Always wanted a hat like that.

After the war when it was just us, when his bones finally decided to call it quits, he handed it over to me. Figured I'd need it. Suppose he was right, 'cause it's been with me ever since.

Now it's only me. But I still got a little bit a' him with me. Curious if I'll ever let go of it, or just wear it to my grave."

Just a 'lil comic sequence with Claire and the Outsider. The idea was originally Claire wearing his hat, but the horns didn't really allow that to happen. Then I got this idea and drew it very poorly.
