Not A Morning Person

Lilith tossed once more, moving her curvaceous form over the bedsheets one more time. She wriggled her hips, shifting her legs into a more comfortable position. It was morning. Which was weird. She had spent so long living nocturnally that going back to a standard schedule of being up when the sun was struck her as odd. The sun spelled death. Why would she ever be up at a time like this.

But it wasn't all bad. Today was Saturday. The cafeteria food got a bump in quality for breakfast today. Typically eggs, bacon, pancakes, horse blood, maybe a few lost souls depending on the student. They also served waffles. And Simon was entranced by waffles. Even with her brain lingering on the edge of consciousness, she could still recall the brownie's long tangents about the structural ingenuity of the waffle.

"It really is something." He would say. "A very well-designed breakfast. Taking the simplicity of the pancake and breaking it down to a science. The syrup fills up each divot perfectly. Butter never melts off the top because these pits are here to catch it. Fruit falls into them too. And it cooks so perfectly because it is designed for symmetrical preparation." He would go on and on about how humans had taken their own structural ingenuity and know-how and brought it to something as menial as breakfast.

Strange that he wasn't up by now. She didn't hear the pitter-patter of his little feet moving about the room, fixing this and cleaning that. But she didn't want to bother looking. More sleep for her. She would just lay, her plump rear nestled heavily against the bedspread, for another hour or two.

There was a knot or something in the mattress. She could feel it. But she figured a few good bounces with her behind would flatten it out. If not she could always just give it a light press for the next few hours. She wasn't going anywhere.


And neither was Simon.

Simon Goes To School For Mythical Creatures
On the trip there he meets Morrigan and travels with her. They split, and then he meets Aisling and she travels with him all the way there. Then they part.

Simon studies at School
Meets and rooms with Lilith. They warm to each other. He learns a bit.

Simon Goes North For Indeterminate Amount Of Time
Simon parts with Lilith and goes back to his homeland. He then heads north with Aisling. The two settle in Northern Nymph Country and he meets Leona, Claire, and the Outsider.


That's how it is in my head. Don't think too much about it. I certainly didn't.
